adidas have just dropped a bunch of new NMD silhouettes that have taken on some new forms to create the future of urban exploration. Today (6 April) adidas finally release 19 NMD styles that include include four NMD R1s (one being a new colorway), 10 NMD R2, the NMD City Sock 2 Ronin Pack and three NMD XR1 styles that contain a notable stripped Primeknit. These NMDs will be dropping in stores with the majority of the drops landing online. ADIDAS ORIGINALS – NMD_CS2 RONIN PACK

Pushing the hyper-minimalist blueprint of the NMD_CS1 to its furthest limits yet, adidas Originals presents a new iteration of the NMD_CS2. A bold evolution of the original model’s sock-fit construction, the NMD_CS2 features a single-piece wraparound Primeknit upper with a woven stripe motif, accented with embroidered vamp details. The signature NMD midsole is then refined with a sharper profile and deconstructed EVA insert on the medial side and engraved details on the lateral side. Rendered in Collegiate Navy and finished with a contrast collar and signature tape heel pull, the release culminates as a pure expression of the power of NMD minimalism, stripping contemporary footwear design to its absolute core.

ADIDAS ORIGINALS – NMD_R2 W PRIMEKNIT

The second generation of the groundbreaking NMD series, the NMD_R2 W steps out in two brand new colorways this month, courtesy of adidas Originals.

Featuring a full Primeknit upper, the shoe’s sockfit design is accented with welded 3-stripes marks and an essential leather NMD heel tab, whilst the Primeknit textile is elevated with an engineered stripe pattern and a polka-dot print detail. The greatest departure from the original NMD design, the shoe’s signature BOOST tooling is rendered in a classic white and Clear Granite color ways, finished with essential welded 3-stripes marks with contrast asymmetric plug inserts on the medial side, countered with an engraved stripe detail on the lateral side. The result is a continuation of the striking NMD aesthetic on a shoe that continues the groundbreaking legacy of the original shoe.

ADIDAS ORIGINALS – NMD R2

The next generation NMD_R2 silhouette gets another new color treatment this month, stepping out in an understated two-tone colorway.

Featuring a premium Primeknit construction, the latest NMD_R2 features an engineered tonal stripe motif woven into the upper, complemented by tonal details including welded 3-stripes, laces and molded heel patch. Placed atop a classic white BOOST tooling, the design is then accented by the woven heel-tab, rubber outsole and asymmetric EVA heel insert on the shoe’s lateral side, which have been rendered in a bold Core Red palette. Rendering the evolutionary model of the NMD series in minimalist white with flashes of unmissable red, the release culminates as a presentation of the NMD_R2 in its most striking colorway yet.

This campaign brings to life the notion of urban exploration and a constant exploration of the past to create something original. It is an endeavor that’s never finished. To illustrate the idea of perennial work-in-progress, visuals employ a photocopy technique that scans over the model and the product photography.

The second generation of the groundbreaking NMD series drops on Thursday 6 April and will be available at adidas Originals stores, AREA3, www.adidas.co.za and from selected retailers.
