When it comes to producer rapper combos, you’ll be hard-pressed to find another one-two combo smoother than Herc and Priddy Ugly. In case you didn’t know, Herc Cut The Lights is gearing up for the release of his album titled SSG’98, which is due to drop on the 6th of February.
If you know anything about these two, they will bring an aggressive single, and they delivered exactly that on the single “ASKIES, ASKIES”. The single carries an aggressive industrial sound that sets the tone for Priddy Ugly to perform atop. Priddy Ugly sounds at home on the sound with it being reminiscent of the energy he used produce in his younger years. That isn’t to say that the skill level hasn’t progressed, rather, this sounds like a Priddy Ugly that is at the peak of his powers, expertly balancing flow, cadence and delivery. When it comes to producer-led songs, who raps on the production falls down to the ear of the producer, and Herc Cut The Lights’ curation abilities are on full display on this single.
