Bab’ Dlamini, the Eswatini DJ and producer better known as Big Facata, is taking “Shimpilika” to another level. Dropping 18 September, the remix turns his February single into a seven-artist hip-hop link-up, bringing together voices from Eswatini and South Africa.
Meaning “slide” in siSwati, “Shimpilika” becomes a fitting soundtrack for movement, with Oriiginelle, Grixxly, Sean Cast, Ncwiki Flex, Thaifo Son and MCO Jamrock representing Eswatini, joined by South Africa’s Nino Fresko. Rather than simply adding a guest verse, Bab’ Dlamini opens the record up into a full-on cypher, giving each artist space to bring their own flavour.
The remix follows his 2025 debut single “Zazazel”, featuring Amarii and Mad Uno, as Bab’ Dlamini continues building his identity across hip-hop, R&B, Amapiano, Afrobeats and Kwaito. A self-taught producer who started making beats from his bedroom in 2022, he has since moved from DJing into recording and performing.
After making noise at this year’s Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival, including sparking a mosh pit and helping push the “Zazazel” dance into wider conversation, Bab’ Dlamini is carrying that same energy into his latest release.
“Shimpilika Remix” is more than a remix. It is a meeting point between scenes, sounds and borders, while putting Eswatini’s creative energy firmly in the conversation.
“Shimpilika Remix” drops Friday, 18 September 2026.
