Masego Returns To South Africa This July — Two Cities, Two Unforgettable Experiences

Masego — the smooth architect behind a genre-bending fusion of neo-soul, jazz, and hip-hop, is making his return to South Africa next month, bringing his unmistakable “TrapJazz” energy back to local stages. After captivating audiences earlier this year at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, the Virginia-born creative has now added Durban and Johannesburg dates to his highly anticipated Fix Your Face Tour across the 4–5 July weekend.

The weekend begins in Durban on July 4th, where Masego joins the stacked lineup for The Ascots during the iconic Hollywoodbets Durban July festivities at Greyville Racecourse. Sharing the stage with names like Bryson Tiller, Swae Lee, Cassper Nyovest, Shekhinah, Elaine and Tresor, the performance is set to soundtrack one of the country’s biggest cultural weekends with soul, groove, and undeniable atmosphere.

Then on Sunday, July 5th, Johannesburg gets its moment as Strictly Soul hosts Masego for an intimate open-air experience at 4 Ways Farmers Market. Known for curating some of the continent’s most memorable R&B-centred experiences, Strictly Soul continues to bridge global artistry with African audiences in a way that feels intentional and deeply rooted in community.

“Masego is one of those artists who reminds you why live music matters,” says Strictly Soul founder Akio Kawahito. “When we talk about what Strictly Soul exists to do, this is it: bringing artists who have something real to say into spaces where people are ready to receive it. Johannesburg has been waiting for this, and we’re proud to be delivering it.”

With his velvet vocals, saxophone-driven arrangements, and emotionally rich performances, Masego has built a devoted South African fanbase that continues to grow with every visit. Whether it’s the intimacy of records like Tadow and Mystery Lady or the effortless chemistry between jazz improvisation and modern R&B in his live sets, his music has become a soundtrack for lovers of feeling, texture, and timeless groove.

Support acts for the Johannesburg show will be announced closer to the event.
