After a confirming debut in Pretoria in November 2025, Red Bull Back2Beyond returns for its second South African chapter—this time landing in Durban. On 14 March 2026, the boundary-pushing format takes over The Station, transforming the iconic venue into a multi-stage ecosystem built on collaboration, contrast, and live musical conversation.
Across the night, Zakes Bantwini, Kabza De Small, Distruction Boyz, and DJ LeSoul will command multiple stages, trading rotating back-to-back sets that blur genre lines and reshape expectations in real time. House melts into Afro-tech. Afro House slides into Amapiano. Gqom collides with 3-Step. The format rejects hierarchy in favour of dialogue—paired artists responding instinctively to each other, building sets moment by moment, creating sounds that can only exist in that space, on that night.
Unlike traditional festival layouts, Red Bull Back2Beyond unfolds across multiple performance spaces simultaneously. As crowds move between stages at The Station, they don’t just watch a lineup—they experience genre evolution live. It’s scalable yet intimate, structured yet unpredictable, reinforcing South Africa’s reputation as one of the world’s most forward-thinking electronic music ecosystems.
The Pretoria debut at 012 Central set a new benchmark for collaborative performance. Durban now takes the baton with a lineup that reflects both the city’s deep roots and its future-facing momentum.

Zakes Bantwini
Raised in KwaMashu’s F-Section, Zakhele Madida has spent over two decades shaping the sound of contemporary South African music. From launching Mayonie Productions before graduating to delivering era-defining hits like “Bum Bum,” “Wasting My Time,” and “Clap Your Hands,” Zakes’ influence runs deep. “Osama” ruled the charts for fourteen consecutive weeks across continents, followed by multiple SAMAs and a Grammy win for “Bayethe” alongside Wouter Kellerman and Nomcebo Zikode. With Abantu marking his final chapter as a performer, Zakes isn’t stepping back—he’s stepping forward. Evolution, not exit.
Kabza De Small
The undisputed King of Amapiano. From Mpumalanga to Pretoria to the global stage, Kabelo Petrus Motha has built an era beat by beat. “Umshove” sparked a national movement, followed by the Scorpion Kings run with DJ Maphorisa—Piano Hub (3× platinum), The Return of Scorpion Kings, and Sweet & Dust (double platinum). The most streamed South African artist on Spotify, a contributor to Drake’s It’s All a Blur tour, and the first Amapiano artist to reimagine his catalogue with a full orchestra at Red Bull Symphonic. Kabza doesn’t chase moments—he defines them.
Distruction Boyz
From local Durban gigs to global dance floors, Thobani “Que” Mgobhozi and Zipho “Goldmax” Mthembu rewrote the rules of Gqom. “Omunye” detonated worldwide, while Gqom Is The Future became the first Gqom album to go gold—raw drums, relentless bass, zero compromise. After a period of solo exploration, the duo reunites with renewed clarity. The blueprint remains. The evolution continues.
DJ LeSoul
Born in KwaMashu, Nonkululeko Mdlalose has been reshaping electronic music since 2017. As DJ LeSoul, she fuses African tradition with forward-thinking production, breaking through with UnOrthodox Sounds. A Red Bull Music Academy lead producer and Metro FM host, her tracks—like “Amabele”—have moved dance floors from Johannesburg to Berlin. Behind the decks, she delivers precision, intensity, and total control. DJ LeSoul isn’t following the wave. She is the wave.
