Sarnilo Set to Drop Anticipated Single with the Legendary Nana Magagula

This Friday, Eswatini’s rising star Sarnilo is set to release her highly anticipated single “Don’t Be Shy”, featuring the iconic Swazi legend Nana Magagula. The track is a soulful fusion of new-school energy and timeless artistry — a beautiful meeting of two generations of Swazi music excellence.

For those who may not know, Nana Magagula is a household name in Eswatini and beyond. She signed with the renowned international label Gallo Records, releasing her acclaimed debut album Five Loaves and Two Fish, which earned three SAMA nominations in 2005. Nana also collaborated with Phillip Miller on the soundtracks of the classic South African TV dramas Yizo Yizo and Gaz’lam, and in 2006, she performed the national anthems of France, Uruguay, and South Africa during the Rugby Tri-Nations. Despite taking a step back from the limelight in recent years, her influence remains deeply respected in the region.

For Sarnilo, this collaboration marks a major milestone — a bridge between eras that celebrates Eswatini’s rich musical heritage while ushering in its vibrant new sound.

Born to a Malawian mother and Swati father, Sarnilo is a singer, songwriter, rapper, and poet celebrated for her soulful lyrics, versatility, and Afro-centric style. Her music is a captivating blend of smooth rap, emotive soul, and experimental energy, often weaving siSwati and Chichewa into her storytelling.

“Don’t Be Shy” is more than just a song — it’s a moment for Eswatini music. Be ready; this one’s for the books.
