Once Upon a Time in Joburg, is a locally owned live music mini concert festival, organised by Dr.Bird Productions. that is focused on r&b and neo-soul. The first concert was held on the 2nd of March 2024 and featured local South African acts; Lord Kez, Marcus Harvey, Simmy, Fif_Laaa, LOVESLAVEPHOLA and Nouveaux; and had Xavier Omar (USA) as their headliners.
Once Upon A Time In Joburg is set to make it return in 2025 with its 2nd show happening on the 21st of June 2025 at James & Ethel Gray Park from 12:00am to 22:00 (10:00PM). This year the set to continue being a music festival set to push the live r&b and neo-soul scene with a stellar line-up featuring South African acts Nanette and Shekinah with international acts Goldlink and Sasha Keable headlining the concert, with more acts to be confirmed.
The event is open to the public with a capacity of 3000. There will be a general access tickets as well as VIP tickets. Both tickets will be sold in phases as artist announcements are made.
Dr.Bird Productions has a passion for South Africa, it’s beauty, creatives, music, people and opportunities. Their goal is to keep exposing the world to the superstar quality South Africa has while giving the South African people a chance to see and experience some of their favourite artists live.
