Durban’s First Lady of Hip-Hop, Lex LaFoy, is set to release her latest single, “FRISK”, on Friday, March 28, 2025.
Produced by Bl4nk G4l4xy—a duo consisting of Cape Town-based Hugh Davison and Johannesburg-based Musa Zwane (bass guitarist of Soweto punk rock band Shameless)—the track was crafted over 10 months through a long-distance collaboration.
“FRISK” blends reggae and rap, delivered over a stripped-down, dub-inspired riddim, with Lex once again showcasing her signature lyrical and poetic finesse.
The release is accompanied by a stunning music video, featuring cameos from Celestial Mic, IamKingPvnda, Kev7, and others. Directed by SAMA Award-winning filmmaker Slimdogmillionaire, the visuals capture the essence of coastal landscapes across the Zulu Kingdom.
