YoungstaCPT DROPS 32 Y?EARS AHEAD OF TIME

YoungstaCPT released his “32 Y?EARS AHEAD OF TIME” the second installment of his trilogy mixtape series and his 34th project to date…The long-awaited release, ‘32’ showcases YoungstaCPT’s mid-tempo sound while still delivering high-energy bangers, making it a fresh yet familiar addition to his catalog.

“It feels good that these songs are finally getting released to an audience, the tracks were supposed to be a part of one project, so to split them up was a bit challenging, but I found a way to spread them and create different moods. ‘32’ has more of a mid-tempo feel but does come with a few high-energy bangers.” – YoungstaCPT

The standout track for YoungstaCPT? “My favorite song on the tape is ‘Hardloop’. Just based on the feel of it and how personal it is to me, I also referenced one of my favorite songs (Pharycyde – Runnin’) so it holds a special place in my musical history. Mixtapes were supposed to be experimental and fun so I’m glad to revisit those kinds of themes again” Disaster is probably one of the most powerful tracks on the tape and For Me shows Youngs softer side in the same vain as previous tracks Wifey and For Coloured Girls, The music on ‘32’ spans years of creative evolution. The oldest song on the tape is from 2017 and the latest being 2022 so the writing stretches across a few years but when music is made purely it will stand the test of time.

The only features consist of Bravo Le Roux and TDV, both of whom YoungstaCPT has worked with in the past. J-Star delivers standout contributions, appearing on both Hardloop and Thug On. However, the spotlight also shines brightly on the producers, many of whom YoungstaCPT is excited to highlight.

“I’ve worked with a few first-time producers like Zino D and Eudy. We’ve had these songs in the vault for a while, so it’s nice to see them released. Fonzo is someone I’ve known for a while – he’s not only a dope rapper but a very talented producer. Jay Em and I have done work before, but this is our first in the hip-hop space. And J-Beatz – people are most familiar with our work together. His ability to always find my fit is clear when you hear the final product.”

As he leads ups to the release of his 33rd mixtape, YoungstaCPT’s focus remains on creating music that transcends the moment. “I’m not making music just for right now,” he says. “Some of what I’m saying won’t be fully understood until much later, but one day, it will all make sense. Things take time, but I’m always thinking ahead.”

YoungstaCPT cements his place as one of the most influential voices in South African hip-hop. This mixtape, like the trilogy as a whole, is a testament to his resilience, vision, and commitment to making timeless music.
