Tasha Hendrixx has reached a point in her life where she no longer feels the need to prove anything to anyone.

There is an abundance of talent in South African hip hop, and if you focus on the music instead of the numbers, you’ll realize what you’ve been missing out on. In 2020 and 2022, Tasha HendrixX blessed us with two Extended Plays, showcasing her penmanship and artistry. In between, she focused on producing beats for the best rappers in SA. It wasn’t until 2023 that Tasha dropped her debut album, “BlackD Out”. Her music is a testament to sheer artistic curiosity and fearless creativity, although it may not be chart-topping, it’s undoubtedly the best we have in the country. The album has eight well-written tracks with four features. Tasha HendrixX is a multi-creative artist who is not only a rapper but also a qualified sound engineer, video editor, and producer. The album’s opening song, “No Sense”, is a heartwarming track where Tasha asks God to make sense of the world amidst all the distressing events but finds solace in music. “Toxic Love” is the second track on the album and sets a different mood. In my opinion, “Searching” (track 3) is the best track out of all eight. Tasha’s unique rhythmic poetry and soulful vocals make it stand out. Tasha has nothing to prove; her music speaks for itself, and it’s up to the universe to direct people to her music. The fourth track on the album features Oriiginelle from Eswatini, which is one of many rappers from the kingdom being featured from South African rappers, showcasing her dopeness. Tasha has been Chosen to change lives with her heart and music, and this album is a testament to that. Tasha’s music is more than just content for views; it’s art, and she is undoubtedly one of the best female rappers of this generation. Give the album a listen and challenge yourself to listen closely to what she’s saying.
