Southside Mohammed is on a bit of a streak this year. He started off the year with his mixtape, titled May The Birdz Be With You, to the delight of his fans and the broader hip-hop community alike. Keeping his foot on the momentum he has amassed, the rapper just released a new single with Solo Sae.
As the name suggest, the single stays in theme with hues of R&B in both production and Southside Mohammed’s approach to the song. The shift to a more R&B infused soundscape does not come as a surprise, with a number of other artist’s making the shift as they mature from their trap roots.
Despite the shift in sound, we still get all of the aspects of Southside Mohammed that we all love and enjoy. His vocal tone and unique cadence are still prominent albeit in a more channeled manner. Listen to ‘Jodeci’ below.
