NBA fans around the world are set to witness history this week, with LeBron James eyeing Wednesday or Friday morning to become the NBA’s all-time scoring leader. Both games are set to be broadcast live in SA, so you can witness this milestone when it happens.

In his 20 NBA seasons, LeBron James has done it all. He is a four-time NBA champion, four-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), 19-time NBA All-Star, two-time Olympic gold medallist and a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. And this week he has an opportunity to become the NBA’s all-time scoring leader, currently 36 points behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record that has stood for nearly 40 years. When Jabbar became the league’s all-time leading scorer in 1984, James had not been born yet.

That opportunity will most likely come this week and South African fans will have a chance to witness this historic milestone. On Wednesday, 8 February the L.A. Lakers will host the Oklahoma City Thunder at 5:00 a.m. SAST (LIVE on ESPN) and on Friday, 10 February the Lakers will face two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks (also 5:00 a.m. SAST on ESPN).

At the age of 38, James averages a staggering 30 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game on 50.5 percent shooting from the floor. He continues to excel on the court and remains one of the best and most dominant players in the game today.
