Cape Town rapper LOOKATUPS’ This Was A Mistake II EP comes with three tracks.
The project opens with ‘Push X4’, a trap banger where LOOKATUPS raps in a laidback tone but still sounds very present.
The main highlight is the remix to his 2021 slapper ‘Umxhosa Omkhulu’ which featured Flow Jones Jr.. The remix features the don of new age Xhosa rap Yanga Chief who delivers as usual.
The EP closes with the melodic ‘Akhona’ where the rapper croons over a drumless beat that consists of mellow keys and a selection of synths and pads.
This Was A Mistake II is a prequel to LOOKATUPS’ upcoming album Son Of Joy due later this year.
