Cape Town rapper Soul-T Idyan has finally released his first body of work. Mfana Cape Town showcases the different colors of Soul-T; from boastful raps, personal reflections and some potent melodies. “This project is very close to my heart,” he wrote on Facebook this morning after saying last night, “This project will not only change my life but I believe my story will change ubomi babantu abaninzi estratweni.”

The 10-song project features familiar names in the Xhosa rap scene; the movement’s big brother Yanga Chief joins him alongside Flash Ikumkani and Bhut’Legend on the highly anticipated remix for Soul-T’s breakout single ‘Idyan’ titled ‘Idyan Re-Up’. Holy Alpha bellows on the catchy ‘Mntase’, while Kila C, TrustedSLK and Tuckshop Bafanaz croon about leaving the homelands to hustle in the big cities on the melodic ‘Emakhaya’. ‘Flash Ikumkani’ appears on the emotional ode to umama ‘Izingcebiso’ (the video is premiering this evening at 6pm).
