About six months since the release of their compilation album Welcome to the Planet, the SKHANDAWORLD collective release a mini-documentary that breaks down the history and structure of the “conceptual record label” and takes the viewer behind the scenes on the road, in the studio and the boardroom. In one scene, AKA is seen recording his verse for “All I Want Is You”.
The Welcome To The Planet mini-documentary was directed by Daniel Mavu and produced by Kuda Jemba, and features interviews from the crew members — Ma-E, Loki, Roiii, DJ Mr X, Just Bheki — and a few cameos.
SKHANDAWORLD was formed in 2020, by K.O and long-time manager and business partner, Tsholofelo Moremedi. The conceptual record label, clothing and lifestyle brand announced its partnership with Universal Music Group which they partnered with on releasing their debut project in November.
The release featured an array of A-list guests including AKA, Tshego, Cassper Nyovest, Blxckie and Nadia Nakai on its 11 songs whose primary function was to showcase the label’s roster.
