For almost a year now, we at Hype along with Tullamore D.E.W. have been sharing some #BeautyOfBlend highlights that find us conversating with a select of SA’s diverse creatives and briefly picking their brains on how impactful it would be if the concept of “blending” was not only applied within cultures found in Mzansi but their respectful arts as a way of evolving each other… On this new episode, fierce hip hop artist, Tyson Sybateli, is the new victim that we’ve reached out to and during the time that we spent with the Eve creator, we threw some questions at him that touch on what we explained above…

My name, my name is Tyson Sybateli. Tyson’s a reference to boxers and… I need to be a quick rapper, but like I’m a rapper that just represents what people my age love.
So, what’s your belief in the benefits of blending cultures & perspectives?
Community… You need a community and the people that make up the community and how you can learn different things from one another.
Unity. That’s it.
What do you think the benefits would be for Mzansi if more cultures, artistic styles, genres & communities were blended?
I feel like we could take over the world, honestly, with something so unique, crazy unique, and everyone together coming from different sides, different experiences & different sounds… Someone doing more of an R&B approach, you doing more of a trap approach. If you just blend all of that, we could take over the world because no one’s got this sound.

What comes to mind when I hear #BeautyOfBlend? Unity. That’s it.
