Lucasraps & Phonixthecool Feature On Snoop Dogg’s ‘Algorithm’ (Global Edition) Album

Last week it was announced that SA rappers Lucasraps & Durban Native Phonixthecool had been handpicked by the legendary Snopp Dogg to be part of the Algorithm Global Edition album which dropped on Friday. Lucas is one of two African artists who have been selected to be part of this album and the other artist forming part of this body of work is Durban Native Phonixthecool born Lunga Khumalo who’s sound is said to be super embedded on the West Coast the same sound which Snopp Dogg specializes in.

Lucasraps expressed his gratitude and disbelief of the news when being told that he is going to be part of the album, “I was called and told that I need to be in studio, with no explanation. When the beat dropped, and I heard it was Snoop’s track I went insane, and I knew that I need to bring my A-game” said Lucas at the celebration held last week at Universal Music Studios. Lucasraps is featured on the track ‘Make some money’ which features Fabulous and Dave East.

Phonixthecool features on a song titled ‘No Smut On My Name’ which features Battle Loco and Kokane.  ALGORITHM (The Global Edition) comes through with a whopping 40 tracks in total which is an addition of 15 tracks when compared to the original version.

I’m excited to bring this album to my fans all across the world as my first under Def Jam Records. Together with a few old friends and the introduction of some of the label’s next generation artists, we are changing the game by bringing feeling back into music. – Snoop Dogg
