MTV Base recently announced the return of the ultimate hip hop show that previews and shares views on the latest hip hop joints. Hosted by MTV Base Culture Squad member Tshego Koke, the new and refreshed Yo MTV Raps Uncapped promises to push the culture forward and dive deep into what’s hot in the game. This season will feature interviews with the most influential voices in the game providing a stage for only the best in SA hip hop to shine.
The all-new format is said to be jam packed with only the best new music videos and special guest appearances by various rappers who will go head to head with host Tshego Koke on a selection of their favourite jams. This week will feature Pretoria’s trap rapper 25K, who earlier this year dropped his much-anticipated debut album Pheli Makaveli, which delved into his state of mind, accomplishments, and state of SA hip hop.
“We are really pushing the culture forward this season and our format is more interactive as we get real with the people behind the hits we love through exclusive interviews,” commented Tshego.
“The industry keeps evolving and our refreshed format is reflective of that evolution”
In his exclusive interview with Tshego, 25K touches on the inspiration behind his music, how he feels about collaborating with A Reece, and the influence of Amapiano on hip hop culture. Viewers can expect no holds barred and honest conversations as our host and guests review music videos and unpack trends. The show will also feature exclusive cyphers from some of the hottest rappers in the game.
