Last week, acclaimed Pretoria artist Huey released his much-anticipated EP summr;grace which comes with 9 tracks in total. Since gaining the interest of the hip hop community with his 2017 release ‘big boy’, Huey has consistently produced quality music with an emphasis on positivity and production choices that scream an attention to detail. This new summr;grace EP is the official follow-up to his 2020 album Chasing Magic that also heavily garnered him critical acclaim.
In terms of the project’s narratives, the EP summr;grace is said to be a concept project following Huey as he juggles the hardships of maintaining a romantic relationship, whilst trying to make a success of himself in the entertainment industry. The project is further said to be a more downtempo offering than his previous work, with simplistic production that puts an emphasis on Hueys voice and story telling.
