Kimosabe Productions’ singer-songwriters Kimosabe and Thato Feels recently came back with a new release titled ‘Fell in Luv’, with some accompanying visuals. Lyrically, the two singers compare falling (or being) in love to intoxication and how it tends to make those involved become somewhat inept.
This Pop/R&B tune was produced by Kimosabe and is said to have been composed of an eerie reversed synth sound over hard-knocking 808 stabs, with a guitar breaking the verses away from the hook. ‘Fell in Luv’ also serves as the first single from the singers’ upcoming yet-to-be-titled collaborative project.
In terms of the visuals, the Kay Charles the Visionary-directed music video was shot in Johannesburg at two separate locations, featuring Kimosabe and Thato Feels performing in a studio setting, along with cutaways corresponding with certain lyrical cues. The video utilizes a split-screen effect to further emphasize the duality of
Kimosabe & Thato Feels, in that they are not necessarily a duo act but rather two different artists coming together to collaborate.
