To Yanga Chief released his new single BBAF off his upcoming Pop Star album but prior to that he celebrated being authentically African and culturally rich as Xhosa royalty through his collaboration with praised South African designer Laduma Ngxokolo of Maxhosa on the masklava piece for the cover of Pop Star.
Easily creating a standout piece of album artwork, the cover is said to be yet another piece of iconography from both the visionary rapper and the celebrated fashion designer. Making Yanga Chief an undeniable trendsetter in music and fashion.
Detailing the idea behind creating the masklava (a combination of a mask and a balaclava), Yanga Chief took to social media to share the colours used in the Maxhosa design and what Pop Star means to him “Becoming A Pop Star is about finding yourself, and Pop Star is being happy with what you find” – Yanga Chief.
Pop Star is set to drop on November 27 and pre-order are live right now.
