Its been reported that a hacker has apparently stolen source code from AMD, and leaked the code on Github. Now word has it that the graphics source code includes some details about the Xbox Series X and seems to contain info about AMD’s upcoming GPUs. According to TorrentFreak, Github removed a repository at the request of AMD, which filed an official DMCA takedown notice. AMD also identified four other repositories containing the information, all of which have apparently been removed. The notices state that the content was “stolen from AMD.” But it doesn’t say exactly what the content is, but rumor has it that the repositories included the source code for an Arden GPU. “Arden” is rumored to be the codename for the GPU in Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox Series X console.

Now TorrentFreak interviewed the alleged source of the leak, who says they obtained the code from “a hacked computer” and it includes the graphics source code for Navi 10, Navi 21, and Arden devices. The alleged leaker is asking for $100 million for it. They’ve said they haven’t been in contact with AMD, though they are apparently seeking a buyer for the information.

But AMD doesn’t appear to be worried as a spokesperson said in a statement, “While we are aware the perpetrator has additional files that have not been made public, we believe the stolen graphics IP is not core to the competitiveness or security of our graphics products. We are not aware of the perpetrator possessing any other AMD IP.”
