Converse’s stroke of sustainability carries the brand’s latest iteration at developing products that are innovative and ethically produced. Introducing the Converse Renew Canvas collection. With the iconic upper of the Chuck Taylor All Star having been crafted from recycled fibres that came from used plastic bottles, the brand has once again pushed the boundaries of sustainability, bringing forward the same Chucks spirit, bottled.
Building on the foundation of a revived seasonal colour palette to match the concept behind its inception, each style of shoe varies in terms of design. The Chuck Taylor All Star feature a recycled upper, recycled polyester laces and the distinctive speckled rubber outsole. The differentiating factor includes the styles having either the Chuck Taylor All Star embroidered patch or messaging along the upper or midsole with the phrase “Life’s too short to waste’” stamped across. Stitched eyelets replacing the traditional metal used on Chuck Taylor All Star drive the recycled and sustainable messaging forward to create a natural look and feel.
Same texture and feel with the signature comfortable fit –the uppers on the Renew Canvas shoes are indistinguishable from the traditional Chucks but a unique quality includes you looking and feeling good – knowing you’re giving waste a second life. Renew will be a brand commitment and product focus for Converse going forward through 2020.
The Converse Renew Canvas Collection will launch exclusively at Sportscene Sandton City, Shelflife and Converse stores in Sandton City, Gateway, Menlyn, Canal Walk and Mall of Africa from 1 November 2019.
