Over 2 Million Signatures Received To Use Kobe Bryant’s Image as Official NBA Logo

The tragic death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and the seven other passengers involved still has the world mourning. And since the news it has been confirmed that Kobe will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, but now there’s a growing Change.org petition that has already received over 2 million votes requesting that the NBA league update its logo with Bryant’s image. The petition was launched by user Nick M whose statement with the post says: “With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA Logo.” This petition has since been trending worldwide on the internet with 2.6 million signatures and counting. The NBA’s current logo features a silhouette image of former Los Angeles Lakers player Jerry West. It was originally designed by Alan Siegel in 1971 and has only received one minor update over the years when the font was upgraded in 2017.
