After the tragic helicopter accident that took the lives of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna & 7 others, Kobe’s Granity Studios released his Oscar-winning short film called Dear Basketball online in honor of the star athlete. The film is about five-and-a-half minute long and is based on a poem of the same name that Bryant wrote in November 2015 for The Players’ Tribune to announce his retirement from the NBA. It acts as a love letter to basketball as he retells his early passion for the sport — the blood, sweat, and tears he put in — and the eventual farewell to his life as a professional ballplayer.
