So the first glimpse at a new-gen title was shown at The Game Awards… The glimpse showcased the upcoming PlayStation 5 title Godfall. Developed by Counterplay Games and published through Gearbox, this action-RPG boasts a new reforged loot system and third-person melee combat that results in a wholly new gaming genre: The Looter-Slasher. Now according to PlayStation Blog, the title will have a heavy emphasis on gear customization and player-driven skill, as the title encourages offense-oriented, mastery-driven combat that rewards in powerful loot. Godfall was also designed with co-op play at the forefront, meaning the game can be played solo, with a friend, or with two. As such, enemies will have a variety of responses that change behavior and attack patterns based on the size of the player’s teams.
