Experience urban, youth street culture like never before at Capsule Fest.

About 2 weeks ago The Capsule Fest experience took place in Johannesburg which was an unmissable creative showcase that brought forth a creative hub down to Fox Junction to celebrate all youth cultural entities such as music, food and fashion. Capsule Fest took place on the 26th of October with a variety of artists such as Riky Rick, The Big Hash, YoungstaCPT, Ayanda MVP, UNO The Activist and many more coming through to celebrate a moment of light, love, street culture and expression. During the day while if you didn’t feel like watching some of the artists perform, Capsule collaborated media partners 5FM and Channel O with Sportscene’s various brands including Vans, Kappa, Adidas, Nike, Converse, Dickies, Sneaker King, Champion, Puma, New Era and Asics, to create a curated experience for the attendees.

In addition to the live performances that were taking place throughout the day, Capsule Fest also brought a variety of food stalls and various clothing pop-up stalls. The Capsule Fest curated experience extended to 5FM and Nike respectively, offered festival goers free tattoos, while Dickies and Legends offered free fresh haircuts. DJ Speedsta hosted the Skate Park, LOQ Down hosted the Basketball Court sponsored by Sportscene and the gaming activities were powered by Vodacom and PlayStation.

To simply describe the Capsule Fest experience as just a cultural hub kind of seems to not make sense come to think about it because it was honestly more than that. The whole Capsule Fest experience could be described as a journey that manifested a world of imagination through its creativity, connectivity and multiplicity. Capitec truly revolutionized and came with the idea of bringing its live talks to the event, so that the attendees could listen to their favourites share ideas and share knowledge to them on whatever topic was being discussed at that moment, the Capitec Live Better Talks featured over 44 speakers, 8 sessions and dedicated short-film screenings of the Capsule Fest 2018 Aftermovie. To wrap up the night after all our amazing local acts, Atlanta native, UNO The Activist brought out local DJ and artist; DJ Speedsta and J Molley on stage with him.

It is safe to say that those that attended Capsule Fest Johannesburg got the opportunity to see some of the country’s most creative talents that showcased their artistic inventiveness, and forms with event guests. A joyful experience was had by the attendees and its evident in the images that were shot by the shooter @xavierrebellion.we can’t wait for the next one…
