About 2 weeks ago The House Of Vans experience took place in Johannesburg which was an unmissable creative showcase that brought forth a creative hub down to Fox Junction to celebrate all youth cultural entities such as skateboarding, music, food, fashion and a whole lot more for four days straight! The House Of Vans took place from the 22nd of August until the 25th with a variety of artists such as Riky Rick, Stilo Magolide, DJ Speedsta, Gina Jeanz, Rich The Kid and many more coming through to celebrate a moment of light, love, street culture and expression. From day one until the last, things started off on a high, the likes of Skate Society Soweto, Helena Long, Melissa Williams, Jordan Thackery and Ray Barbee were seen repping skateboarding culture while the likes of Gemini Major, uSanele, DBN Gogo and many more brought some sounds to add on to music element.

In addition to the skateboarding and live performances that were taking place throughout the days, House Of Vans also brought a variety of food stalls, workshops which included photography classes and an awesome Girls Skate Clinic workshop. The whole location was decked out with graffiti art pieces, photography exhibitions, a Legends Barber pop-up, a DEAD. pop-up store and a young tattooing set by Palm Black Tattoos plus more which made it feel like one massive house party. And in the mix of all of that you could take a break and just vibe it out with the people who all came from North, South, East & West to be part of cultural hub that was solely dedicated to them.

To simply describe the House Of Vans JHB experience as just a cultural hub kind of seems to not make sense come to think about it because it was honestly more than that. The whole 4-day immersive experience could be described as a journey that manifested a world of imagination through its creativity, connectivity and multiplicity. Vans truly revolutionized a building into a home for everybody willing to enjoy by bringing the Vans ‘Off The Wall’ spirit to life with its delivery of curated aesthetic and loud activities.

Its safe to say that those that attended House of Vans Johannesburg got the opportunity to see some of the country’s most creative talents that showcased their artistic inventiveness, and forms. with event guests. A joyful experience was had by the attendees and its evident in the images that were shot by the shooter @xavierrebellion.we can’t wait for the next one…
