With the 2019 COPA Coca-Cola® U15 tournament in full swing, teenagers across the country are enjoying some of the best school’s football entertainment on offer. The global competition that has over the years produced some of the best talents is proud to once again bring unique and exciting elements for its 2019 edition.
After successfully introducing the COPA Coca-Cola® anthem last year, which got teenagers dancing to the house beats of renowned DJ and personality DJ Fresh, Coca-Cola® has shifted the gears a notch higher, bringing in a touch of Hip Hop with their partnership with DJ Speedsta.
The popular Hip Hop DJ famously known for his hit single “Mayo”, has been on the road traveling to each COPA Coca-Cola® Provincial Finals, encouraging teenagers to unleash their musical talents for this year’s COPA Coca-Cola® anthem.
Teenagers at each COPA Coca-Cola® Provincial Finals have the opportunity to play their part in the making of this year’s COPA Coca-Cola® anthem. By sharing their musical talent, they will have a part of their contribution added to the final version of this year’s COPA Coca-Cola® anthem by DJ Speedsta titled ‘Champions’.
At each COPA Coca-Cola® Provincials Finals, teenagers will be invited onto the Coca-Cola® stage where they will have the opportunity to sing or rap. The best performing teenagers will have their voices separately recorded and added onto the final version of the anthem.
The popular hitmaker said he was honored to play his part in such an amazing program that brings teenagers together through music and sport.
“This is a unique and exciting opportunity for me to work with one of the most reputable brands in the world. After carefully studying the nature and magnitude of the COPA Coca-Cola® tournament, we saw it fit that we produce an equally fitting anthem. The song is about instilling a sense of self-belief and confidence in teenagers, encouraging them to dream and see themselves as champions” said Speedsta.
After seeing the excitement of teenagers over the song at the recent COPA Coca-Cola® Provincial Finals, the tournament’s ambassador, Khulekani Kubheka expressed his delight over the anthem.
“It is so encouraging to see how Coca-Cola® has brought music to the COPA Coca-Cola® tournament. Through this tournament, teenagers can enjoy football while expressing their musical talents with a reputable name such as DJ Speedsta” said Kubheka.
The final version of the song will be available for download on all official Coca-Cola® digital platforms.
