Sliqe has clearly been busy lowkey as he has just come through and surprised fans with a set of 2 new joints called ‘My Blood’ and ‘Crickets’ in the form of an EP called Kennel Room. ‘My Blood’ is one hard-hitting tune that features Yanga, Zingah, and Farx which is the perfect template for ‘jig’ as it houses artists with diverse textures in their very cadence, character whereas ‘Crickets’ features 6th Ave and is more mellow with the delivery but displays an undeniably smooth trap jig delivered by 6th Ave who stuns on the bouncy yet dreamy production by Lunatik. Apparently, the EP was initially supposed to be 6 tracks but was reduced to 2 as Sliqe preps the album dropping later this year.
Known to be a man with aces up his sleeve, Sliqe recently took some time to delve deeper into production which birthed this project, along with more of the music slated for his pending album. “Producing gives me the pleasure of bringing the actual idea I have in my mind to life, not a rendition of my original idea,” says the multi-talented DJ. If this EP is anything to go by, we’re going to need more of those ideas to come to life. Better yet, we need to hear them!
Almost damn near cried when I saw this artwork cause it speaks volumes in terms of where I’m at in life. Now more than ever after the year break I took to learn how to produce ALONE, I’m more confident in my music and my overall direction in life ??
