Apparently Kanye West Earns Only About 5% Royalties On Net adidas YEEZY Sales

The New York Times recently published a profile yesterday that is centered on adidas’ lack of diversity among its employees at its North American headquarters in Portland, Oregon. This report also included some small details that shine a light on Kanye West’s relationship with the brand. It is still alleged that race is a constant issue on the adidas campus and that fewer than 4.5 percent of the nearly 1,700 adidas employees identify as black — it also gave insight into the size of Kanye’s collaboration with adidas, as well as ’Ye’s potential earnings as part of the partnership.

The piece reports that Kanye West actually earns 5 percent royalties on net sales of his shoes and apparel. His YEEZY sales are expected to top $1.3 billion this year which means that Kanye could be taking about $65 million as a pay check at the end of this year.
