2018 has been quite an exciting year in the music industry, especially with hip hop taking centre stage. Through industry celebrations and loses the SA Hip Hop fraternity have stood together, stronger than ever before. The digital hip-hop band, Solo and The BETR Gang are proud to announce their final phase of their ‘Tour Dates’ concept; ‘Tour Dates Deluxe’ and ‘Tour Dates for Tour Dates’ which kicks off on Friday, 05 October 2018. The ‘Tour Dates’ concept album was first announced in October 2017, with the album being released in January 2018. The concept album is a first of its kind, a Hip Hop album that has 14 features across 10 tracks, each representing a region in South Africa this is structured in the same way that a nationwide tour would be set up and is in pocket for the unconventional moves that the band have become known for.
They further went on to complete an 8-week residency in at the AGOG Gallery in Maboneng, Johannesburg, soon after announcing their French inspired EP ‘Des Dates de Tournee’ and a 3 city France tour. This was only the beginning of what the band had planned. The ‘Tour Dates Deluxe’ album will have an additional 5 tracks, featuring more artists and new regions. The Deluxe features hip hop artists, HHP, Ginger Trill & KT from Mafikeng, Big Star Johnson from the East Rand, Yanga Chief from Eastern Cape, and vocalist, Thabsie from Cape Town. The physical copy will be a double disc which includes their France inspired EP ‘Des Dates de Tournee’. With the release of the new album, the band will be kicking off their tour in Johannesburg on Friday, 5th October 2018 at a secret location.
