SKEPTA Set To Perform At The Red Bull Music Festival

So yesterday the announcement was made that the Red Bull Music Festival Johannesburg has just added International Grime Superstar, SKEPTA, to Line-Up.UK grime star Skepta joins the Red Bull Music Festival line up.  The festival, which takes place between Tuesday, 03 April and Sunday, 08 April, will feature 80 artists performing in various Jozi venues over 6 days. Skepta will perform at Fox Junction on Saturday, 07 April, the main festival night which features 3 stages showcasing future beats, RnB and deep house.

The London grime star dropped Vicious on Halloween after release of Konnichiwa in 2015 featuring A$AP Rocky, Lil B and the London rap crew Section Boyz. The Shutdown hit maker joins a contingent of local and Pan African stars 340Million, Detroit native DJ Stingray andUsangikhumbula hit maker, Kid Fonque who will all be performing at FOX Junction on Saturday 7 April 2017.

Skepta has been at the forefront of Grime for over 10 years and fans can expect to see an exhilarating show featuring iconic tracks such as Konnichiwa, Man and That’s Not Me.

Saturday, April 7 sees modern soul music trailblazers Shekhinah, Langa Mavuso, 340 Million,Gina Jeanz and Capetonian Dwson take over Fox Junction. The venue will have three captivating stages which will cater for diverse music tastes. Audiences will enjoy new genres such as trip hop, future R&B and everything in between. Other nights during the week will showcase Jazz at Orbit, Kwaito night at Republic of 94, hip-hop and other local sounds at Zone 6, Great Dane and Kitcheners.

Red Bull Music Festival Johannesburg is a global celebration of 20 years of the Red Bull Music Academy. The Academy is a world-traveling series of music workshops and festivals. Festival goers of all ages visiting the city will undoubtedly celebrate Johannesburg in its legendary light. The festival has been held in various cities including Los Angeles, New York City and Paris and espouses the values of the RBMA: to create, collaborate and celebrate the SA music scene.
