PUMA and Amsterdam-based streetwear label Daily Paper have collaborated for a second season – this time, offering up an African football-inspired collection made for the streets. The collection pays homage to PUMA’s 20 year commitment to African football, with contemporary streetwear stylings infused onto PUMA’s football team kits, team gear and classic sport sneaker silhouettes. The graphics and colour-blocking patterns recall the vibrant kits of the PUMA-sponsored Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast national football teams. To launch the PUMA x Daily Paper Autumn-Winter Collection, a football pitch was built at the Accra Senior Girls School in Ghana and the school team has been equipped with gear – to help further the development of the sport among young footballers in the area. A short film documenting this endeavor can be viewed at the PUMA Braamfontein store on Sunday 24 September.
