The MTV Base VJ Search kicks off in Joburg on Saturday 3 June and ends on Saturday 24 June in Port Elizabeth. If you think you have what it takes to join their alumnus Sizwe Dhlomo, Vanessa Mdee, Sandile Ntshingila, Ehizojie “Ehiz” Okoeguale, Nomuzi Mabena and Fikile “Fix” Moeti, this is your chance to prove it to the expert panel of judges when the latest edition of the nationwide MTV Base VJ Search comes to your city. Entries are now open!
By 30 July 2017 the new VJ will be announced and awarded a 12-month contract as an ambassador for the network while they also stand a chance to host MTV Base shows and interview some of the biggest music stars in the world at international award shows such as the Video Music Awards (VMAs), European Music Awards (EMAs), and The MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA). They are expected to have a passion for global and African youth culture and music, and must be authentic and “live life in colour”, just like the network’s audience.
Auditions will be held at these dates and venues:
3 June: Zone 6 Venue, Soweto, Johannesburg
10 June: Olive Convention Centre, Durban
17 June: Belmont Square, Cape Town
24 June: The Beach Hotel, Port Elizabeth.
