A website dedicated to translating classic rap songs into Shakespeare inspired words is currently gaining popularity. Among-st the victims of this wordplay translations is Drizzy Drake, whose words about strippers and the life of a rapper have been artistically simplified for the more high-minded. Writer David F. Brand has gone out of his way to recreate Drake’s popular ‘Hotline Bling’ smash hit as it would’ve sounded like if Shakespeare himself had written down the lyrics. Brand has also given the Shakespeare lyrical twist to a host of other rap classics by the likes of Notorious B.I.G. and Ice Cube, all of which you can read here.
