Kendrick Lamar’s 2016 Grammy performance did not disappoint. The MC probably delivered the performance of the night. In his performance Kendrick walked out as part of a chain gang to perform his track ‘The Blacker The Berry’ with his band locked inside jail cells.
Lamar followed up with outstanding visuals as he performed his hit joint ‘Alright’ in front of a massive bonfire, with the use of fast action camera cuts. At the ending of the performance, the word Compton was displayed over an image of Africa.
Lamar took home five awards in total. The first four he scooped before the show began for Best Rap Performance,Best Rap song, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Music Video (with Taylor Swift). He later picked up another award for Best Rap Album at the beginning of the show, beating J. Cole, Dr. Dre, Drake and Nicki Minaj.
