This is going to be difficult on all the O.G T.I fans, especially the ones who have already copped tickets, but yes, it has been confirmed that T.I will no longer be performing in JHB on 17 October 2015, as planned.
The ATL rapper was set to headline the Jack Daniel’s Boomtown music festival at Zool Lake Sports Club, alongside some local acts including K.O and DJ Speedsta. The postponement comes due to Airey Scott being unable to secure a Durban date over this period. On the bright side, the new dates include both Durban and JHB, so it’s all good.
“We are excited to be hosting JACK DANIEL’S BOOMTOWN JOBURG in Johannesburg on the 12th March 2016, over and above the Vodacom Durban July experience on the first weekend of July 2016. We have however been inundated with requests from Durban fans to include Durban in T.I’s tour. As the city where the iconic BOOMTOWN brand has been built over the past 7 years, we strongly believe we need to include the Durban fans with another T.I. show on 11th March 2016 at the Durban Botanical Gardens.”
All you eager beavers who have already purchased tickets are able to get a refund or exchange their ticket for the new date – 12th March 2016. For exchanges, you can visit any Computicket outlet nationwide.
T.I, who has now gone back to calling himself Tip, has just released a mixtape and is set to drop an album any day now.
