Okay, we know what you’re thinking: what on earth could 2 Chainz – the global advocate for big booty hoes and shiny shoes – add to a mult-million professional sports organization on a managerial level? Valid question. Buuuuuut 2 Chainz is not quite as silly as some of his content will have you believe; how many rappers you know who received multiple academic scholarships, finished college and received straight As?
Well, NBA team Atlanta Hawks just made the announcement that he will be taking over the team.
Chainz, formerly known as Tity Boi (can’t decide which is worse than the other) just stepped in the big seat after former CEO Steve Koonin let him take it. Not only did Chainz become the CEO, he will also be partnering with the Hawks to promote his new hip hop label The Real University (T.R.U).
The Hawks are set to battle the Miami Heat this Friday, and as you will see in the video below Chains is already looking pretty comfortable in his winner’s seat.
It’s very likely that this is a temporary position, purely for marketing purposes for both parties, but you never know these days. Ever since hope got a piece of the Brooklyn Nets and Usher earned a seat at the Cleveland Cavaliers, the door is wide open for cats to make the transition from the mic to the hardwood.
