Two American jazz musicians are killing Kendrick Lamar’s vibe. Eric Reed and Willie Jones III claim Kendrick’s song Rigamortis uses unattributed samples from their 2010 track The Thorn, and are suing him for a milli.
They claim the Compton rapper sampled their track as the background music in Rigamortis, Kendrick’s hit single from his 2011 album Section 80. According to the lawsuit, Kendrick took their song and simply added lyrics. “The Thorn isn’t merely part of Rigamortis … It is Rigamortis,” the musicians claim.
And not only are they seeking $1 million, they’re also demanding any profits from the sale of the song and all rights to the track. Damn, guys, you’re killing the homie.
