On 27 June Pretoria’s State Theatre will be hosting the Expressions Youth Festival, a youth month program by the SA State Theatre and SAST Development. This initiative is an opportunity for young people in different Art disciplines. “We have Drama, Music, poetry ,Dance and workshops” Said Sibusiso Nkambule, who is overseeing the Competition segments of the festival.
Each category has a prize up for grabs. The top 2 finalists in each category will be battling for the prize money and the dance crew wins R8,000, a photo shoot and video shoot, while the rap battle winner gets R4,000. a photo shoot, a studio track and video shoot. The winning poet wins cash prizes too.
The current Rap Battle/Cipher winner, Oracle V .P says he is ready to defend his title. He has been putting in some serious work. On June 16 he dropped a new music video for his single HUSTLE – http://youtube/Sf64BANbMgs and has since become a multi talent with skills in Graphic Design, Fashion and Singing.
He is with Guluva Entertainment which is owned by Kwaito legend Zola and continues to grow as an artist.
Whether a new champ is crowned or the old one keeps the reign, all shall be revealed from 1pm till 7.30pm at the State Theatre Applause which is outside.
