Major League drop first single

majorleaguezMajor League, the twin DJs who’ve taken the SA club scene by storm, most notably when they opened for Kanye West late last year, have just released their first single off their upcoming EP in 2014. We spoke to one half of the duo, Banele, who told HYPE: “The EP will be up for everyone to download. We looking to build our market, especially in the kasi. We already have a big following in the township. But we looking to grow it even bigger now. Major League are those Djs that are booked to play at taverns in the township. [We’re] taking our music to the people.”

And the first single ‘The Bizness’ will no doubt become a huge hit judging by the featured artists. “The idea behind ‘The Bizness’ is purely staying proudly South African. We have been looking for a South African hip hop sound that we will represent. So we have been working with our cousin Riky Rick. And he helped us with that. Regarding the artists on the track. We knew what we wanted to do. We wanted rappers that speak to different culture backgrounds. So we got Tswana rapper, Cassper, and Zulu rapper, Siya Shezi. And to top it off we have a English hook with Riky on it so we don’t exclude the main market in the burbs. So with all that we communicate to a bigger market all together. We have been recording our tracks at Post Office studios and Mastering our music with Lungelo.”
