The long awaited collaborative project between rapper Nas and producer DJ Premier may finally be coming to fruition, after the Brooklyn DJ broke news that he’ll be working with the ‘God’s Son’ rapper soon.
“It’s coming”, DJ Premier says. “I just saw him last week. It’s coming. He has another project to drop on Def Jam, then he’s a free agent. Let him get that out. It’ll give me time to get my artists ripped and ready, then we can all tour together or something”.
Nas and DJ Premier have had a long working relationship since 1994 when Nas released his debut album Illmatic.
The DJ also said he’s not sure whether the album will feature rapper AZ, who featured on Illmatic, on the classic track “Life’s a Bitch”.
“Nas is in charge, I’m just a producer”, he shared.
DJ Premier had hinted at plans of working with the New York rapper back in 2006 – and we at the HYPE headquarters will be waiting with baited breath for this release!
