Lil Kim set to drop mixtape

Lil Kim has not released an album since September 2005 when she dropped The Naked Truth, a critically acclaimed album which sold over half a million units in the USA. She dropped the mixtapes Ms G.O.A.T in 2008 and in 2011 we saw the release of Black Friday: The Mixtape.

She took to twitter this week to announce to her fans that she would be dropping a brand new mixtape titled Hardcore 2K13: Back 2 Da Street. The Queen B attached the artwork which is very similar to her debut album Hardcore which dropped in 1996 in the golden era of rap when no one could f*ck with Lil Kim – well at least Foxy tried.

One thing is clear, Hardcore is a certified classic in the history books of rap (not to mention sold over 3 million copies globally), so for Lil Kim to wanna take it ‘back 2 da street’ she knows she’s got some serious pressure to match up to the heat of her debut. Can she pull it off? We can’t wait to hear the tape to see if she still possesses those solid, raunchy, hard-hitting bars.
