Zen Nightclub was packed with the hottest entertainment last Saturday, as the semi-finals of Sprite Uncontainable 2013 went down in true hip hop steez. With people coming out in numbers to support their favourite graffiti writers, MCs and dancers, one thing was for sure – the live performances definitely united the audience and made them temporarily forget the competitiveness of the event. First off, Boyz N Bucks murked it, bringing something new to the forefront. Also bringing something new was Tumi who performed brand new material off his new album that had the crowd going buck. He pleasantly surprised the audience when he brought Reason on to the stage.
Then it was onto the serious stuff. With C-Live holding it down as the host for the evening, the graffiti got a head start with the contestants showcasing their skills on canvas and getting judged by renowned writer Falko. The dance battles were seriously dope, filled with high energy. A definitely highlight in the rap category was when the contestants got to freestyle which was really sick.
Here are the finalists per genre who made it through and who will be attending the mentorship program on the 7th and 8th of August and who will be battling it out on the 25th August in the grand finale at Zone 6 in Soweto.
