J Cole moves release date up to compete with Kanye West

In a definite bold move, Cole’s forthcoming sophomore album Born Sinner has been moved up a week earlier to drop on 18 June, the same day Kanye plans to drop. The Grammy-nominated Roc Nation/Columbia rapper is releasing two versions of the album, the first of which contains 16 tracks, boasting a dark cover depicting the seven deadly sins, while the deluxe version carries a hefty 21 tracks and is accompanied by a devil figure on the album sleeve.

Fans who have eagerly been awaiting the album have been treated to the rapper’s site www.BornSinner.com, a striking digital platform that features audio and visual documentary style stories of the people who have been significant and instrumental in shaping J. Cole’s life as an artist, producer and person.

The first single off the album “Power Trip” featuring Miguel has already gone gold with over half a million units sold in the USA, as well as over 7 million views on Youtube for the video. Pre-orders for Born Sinner, both standard and deluxe versions, are now available. Fans can purchase online here:
