Five years ago YFM introduced us to the dynamic duo of Hlelo and Nthando Masina, aka ‘The Twins’, who had audiences tuning to their weekend show Double Up. The show has to be commended for consisting of 40 to 50% local music over the years, creating a voice in which Local is most definitely Lekker. Unfortunately that era is coming to an end.
“We have had an amazing journey at YFM which has taken our brand to another level over the past few years. YFM have given us fabulous opportunities, and they are more like family to us. With that being said, we have quite a few new and exciting ventures lined up, and we are about to embark on that new journey” said Nthando and Hlelo.
The twins have played a significant role in the growth of the YFM brand over the past five years and their efforts did not go unnoticed, with Programming Manager Tumelo Diaho Monaheng stating, “It has been great working with the Twins, they have been valued members of the YFM team, and we wish them all the best with all their future plans”.
