In the Dec/Jan issue of HYPE, we hit up SA DMC representative DJ Codax, touching on his journey on the ones and twos and how he ended up carrying a nation on his shoulders when he repped SA at the global DJ champs. Here’s more from the interview that you didn’t get to see in HYPE.
What is your impression of the SA hip hop scene?
JHB guys are doing what they do, Cape Town guys are doing what they do, but I think if the two should combine, we will have something truly unique….
How much time do you spend practicing?
Not as much as I want to. About five hours a day. There’s always something else that demands my attention in between!
