2012 BET AWARDS AND THE WINNERS ARE….

The 12th Annual BET Awards took place in LA this morning, hosted by veteran Hollywood actor Samuel L Jackson.  I must say I was unsure of the decision of him hosting the awards, as in the past the most successful hosted awards were by comedians but Mr  Jackson held his own. The show was opened by G.O.O.D MUSIC’s collective, with their latest hit “Mercy” and the performance broke into transition with Mr Kardashian aka Kanye West performing his second verse of “Theraflu (way too cold). Ye surprised many by dropping an unplanned freestyle (somewhere in the audience Stephen Gill, CEO of BET was crossing his fingers that Ye wasn’t gonna pull out one his infamous stunts), he went on about money, fame, blah, blah and his AIR YEEZY being doper then the Air Jordans. Ehhh *coughs* dunno bout that but let homey have his moment. Other highlights of the awards included Spike Lee’s and Samuel L Jackson’s parody  “Nigros in Paris” lol, Melanie Fiona and Wale’s performance, Megan Good’s appearance ( I am in deep denial of her being married, but she can still get it*sigh*). Angela Bassett still has her groove hot damn *mutters something in tongues*, she was joined by  her co-stars of the 1995 hit “Waiting To Exhale”, Loretta Devine and Lela Rochon during Whitney Houston’s tribute segment. Hov gave Kanye a taste of his own medicine by interrupting Yeezy during the acceptance speech for “Video Of The Year”, “Imma let you continue Kanye” to the laughter of all in attendance. The big winners of the night were The Throne (Jay-Z & Kanye West) , Beyonce and Chris Brown (who, along with Nicki Minaj, must have BET Awards tenders*side eyes the judging committee*). You can catch the awards tomorrow night on Top TV on BET’s channel. Full list of winners below:
